Can recycling

The recycling of tin (tinplate) cans has been shown to be worthwhile. Compared with other methods of disposal, recycling is a cheap - and environmentally sound - option. The reprocessing of scrap cans makes it possible for high-grade steel to be recovered. In order to promote these activities, an association known as "FERRO Recycling" was established by Switzerland's leading can manufacturers, traders and disposal companies. Further information - plus details of a roadshow and a competition - is available (in French and German) on the Association's website.
