Results of the NAQUA National Groundwater Monitoring

The results of the NAQUA National Groundwater Monitoring show that groundwater of a good quality is available in sufficient quantities nearly everywhere in Switzerland. Traces of artificial, sometimes persistent, substances are found mainly in conurbations and regions with intensive agriculture.

Groundwater quality
The quality of groundwater in Switzerland is generally good to very good. In conurbations and regions with intensive agriculture, however, groundwater can contain traces of undesirable artificial substances.

Groundwater quantity
Groundwater is available in sufficient quantities for drinking and process water supply in large parts of Switzerland.
