Climate change affects people and the environment. It poses a direct threat to the natural resources required by the populations of developing countries and is harmful to the infrastructures and specific economic sectors of developed countries such as Switzerland. Changing temperatures and precipitation levels are also affecting animals, plants and natural systems like oceans. In order to lower the risk of a critical breakdown, humans must significantly lower their greenhouse gas emissions.
