The section

• is responsible for carrying out analyses and checking data;
• checks hydrological survey data, corrects it, ascertains it in terms of numerical order and plausibility, processes and archives it;
• issues hydrological information and makes hydrological data and assessments available to interested circles (also available by subscription);
• concerns itself with analyses and interpretations of hydrological data series with the goal of providing reliable bases for water management and environmental protection;
• verifies data series and documents them;
• coordinates hydrological data processing in Switzerland;
• publishes the Hydrological Yearbook of Switzerland.
