Swiss climate policy at a glance

Condensed version of Switzerland’s Fifth National Communication submitted to the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat in 2009

over Swiss climate policy at a glance
Year 2010
Description Switzerland’s climate policy is progressing in the right direction, as this Swiss Climate Report to the United Nations shows. Overall greenhouse gas emissions have fallen slightly since 1990 and the per-capita reduction is even stronger. Based on the current scenarios, Switzerland can narrowly comply with the commitments it entered into under the Kyoto Protocol; to reduce its average emissions for the period from 2008 to 2012 by 8% from the 1990 level.
