| Description | Switzerland’s climate policy is progressing in the right direction, as this Swiss Climate Report to the United Nations shows. Overall greenhouse gas emissions have fallen slightly since 1990 and the per-capita reduction is even stronger. Based on the current scenarios, Switzerland can narrowly comply with the commitments it entered into under the Kyoto Protocol; to reduce its average emissions for the period from 2008 to 2012 by 8% from the 1990 level. | |
