Indicator Prohibited invasive alien organisms

The intentional or unintentional introduction of alien species into Switzerland can cause the supplanting of native species, the spread of diseases and damage to infrastructure. Once alien species have entered the country, it is difficult to control their spread. The species listed in the Annex to the Release Ordinance are the recognised invasive alien organisms. They are seen as particularly problematic and may not therefore be sold or further disseminated.
