Curriculum vitae
Franziska Vivica Schwarz (1968) grew up in Kilchberg (ZH). After completing training as a commercial employee, she transferred to the academic path to obtain a baccalaureate. She then completed a degree in food engineering at the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, and earned a PhD in 2001. After a short stint at a major bank as project manager, Franziska Schwarz worked at the Federal Office for Professional Education and Technology (OPET) from 2003 to December 2012. In 2008, she was appointed Vice Director, in which capacity she was responsible for international relations.
Franziska Schwarz has been Vice Director of the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) since 1 February 2013. She heads the "Water", "Biodiversity and Landscape" and "Soil and Biotechnology" divisions and the EIA and Spatial Planning Section.
