Linking the Swiss and EU emissions trading schemes: Joint Committee
Analogous to other agreements with the EU, a Joint Committee is appointed to administer the agreement on the linking of the emissions trading systems. In particular, the Joint Committee can decide on amendments to the Annexes.
The fourth meeting of the Joint Committee on linking emissions trading systems was held as a virtual conference on 21 October 2021. The Joint Committee discussed current developments in climate policy and their significance for the Linking Agreement.
The third meeting of the Joint Committee on the linking of the emissions trading systems was held as a virtual conference on 26 November 2020. The Joint Committee discussed the current developments in climate policy and their significance for the Agreement. It also refined the framework for the operational implementation of the Agreement.
The second meeting of the Joint Committee on the linking of the emissions trading systems was held in Brussels on 5 December 2019. The Joint Committee adopted amendments to the Annexes to the Agreement, which will take effect on the date of entry into force of the Agreement.
