Switzerland is expected to be disproportionately affected by climate change, with impacts on the environment, the economy and society. In the long term the negative consequences will clearly outweigh the positive consequences.
Because global warming can at best be limited to 1.5°C, adaptation to the impacts of climate change is becoming increasingly important. The Federal Council's strategy "Adaptation to climate change in Switzerland" sets the framework for the coordinated actions of federal agencies in adapting to climate change.
