Defining «Drivers, pressures, state, impact, responses» (DPSIR)
The status reports use an approach that takes account of the related concerns of other sectoral policy realms in addition to purely environmental issues. The approach is based upon the DPSIR framework, which in turn is harmonized Europe-wide. This framework facilitates analysis of the causal interplay among the determinants of environmental state. The linkages between human activities and the environment have been defined.
