Natural Hazards Maps
Informations on Natural hazard maps, intensity maps, and hazard warning maps, as well as links to the cantonal geoportals, is provided. Various other maps help assess natural hazards in Switzerland.
Permafrost Monitoring
Intensive research on permafrost in the mountains has only been carried out for a few decades. Switzerland is currently participating in various projects which estimate and observe the occurrence of permafrost.
Landslide Monitoring
One possible measure to protect against landslides is the monitoring of landslide-prone slopes. Today, the FOEN uses state-of-the-art methods, such as radar interferometry, to monitor slopes. This makes it possible to identify landslide masses and determine the magnitude of landslide movements.
