Import and export of chemicals

For the import and export of certain substances, an authorization from FOEN is required under the provisions of the ORRChem. This includes:

• the import of metallic mercury, mercury compounds or mercury alloys and the export of metallic mercury
• the export of certain plant protection products, including their active ingredients
• the import and export of substances that deplete the ozone layer
• the export of certain plant protection products, including their active ingredients

Furthermore, the provisions of the PIC Ordinance apply to the import and export of other specific hazardous industrial chemicals and pesticides.
