Industrial decarbonisation funding programme
Swiss industrial companies play a key role in achieving climate targets. To support them, the CO₂ Act provides for a funding programme specifically for decarbonising industry, starting in 2025.
Applications for 2026 can be submitted until 31 March.
How to apply

About the funding programme
Industrial installation operators who are required to participate in the emissions trading scheme (ETS) can apply for financial assistance to fund measures that significantly reduce their CO₂ emissions.
The programme is funded through revenues generated by auctioning emission allowances and aims to help companies implement measures involving financial or technical risks. These measures must be compatible with the 2050 net-zero emissions target set out in the Climate and Innovation Act (CIA). The programme is run by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN).
Why is it important?
In order for Switzerland to achieve its climate goals, action must be taken where the impact is greatest. The industrial decarbonisation programme provides the federal government with a concrete instrument to support energy-intensive industries in reducing their emissions.
