Publications: Water in a changing climate
Switzerland enjoys an abundance of water resources. However, for over a hundred years, its water bodies have been compromised by abstraction, chemical pollution and structural engineering. In recent times, another problem has become increasingly apparent: climate change. The following publications provide an overview of the current state of knowledge.
Hydro-CH2018 Brochure Swiss Water Bodies in a Changing Climate
This brochure explains how Switzerland's water balance works and what changes can be expected.
Effects of climate change on Swiss water bodies: Hydrology, water ecology and water management
The Hydro-CH2018 project analysed the effects of climate change on Swiss waters. The report ‘Effects of climate change on Swiss waters’ gives a concise overview of the results and is a gateway to further technical information and data. The project was led by the FOEN and was treated as a priority theme within the National Centre for Climate Services (NCCS).
