Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan from 2026
On 28 October 2026, the Federal Council adopted the further development of the climate change adaptation strategy and action plan. It sets out the objectives, principles and priorities, as well as the climate change adaptation measures, for the period 2026–2031.
The climate change adaptation strategy and action plan define the objectives and the key measures for minimising climate change risks in Switzerland. In 2012, the Federal Council had adopted the first adaptation strategy. The current strategy and action plan were further developed on this basis.
Across 30 fields of action, the strategy shows how the adaptive capacity of the environment, society and the economy can be increased. The action plan presents 56 measures through which the Confederation intends to implement the strategy.
