Experimental releases of pathogenic organisms (PO)

Experimental releases of PO require federal authorisation.

The Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) is responsible for issuing licences to release PO for experimental purposes. The Release Ordinance (Art. 12-14, 17, 18, 20, 22, 36-41 RO) regulates this procedure.
