Provisions relating to specific substances
The Chemicals Risk Reduction Ordinance (ORRChem) is a basin for special provisions. These are enacted when the general provisions of the Chemicals Ordinance (ChemO) are insufficient. The ORRChem contains two appendices with restrictions and prohibitions for the manufacture, placing on the market or use of certain substances and preparations and articles containing them.
Annex 1 sets out restrictions on certain substances, such as:
Alkylphenols and their ethoxylates
New substances - Requirement for registration
Persistent organic pollutants (POPs)
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
Substances according to Annex XIV REACH
Substances stable in the atmosphere
To provide an easier overview, the restrictions and bans in terms of the ORRChem for certain substances, preparations and articles are summarised in tabular form in the following two pdf downloads.
