Monitoring genetically modified organisms
The FOEN is mandated by law to establish a monitoring system to detect genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in the environment. For that purpose, it carries out surveys and targeted investigations and develops suitable methods of recognising possible hazards to the environment or impairments of biodiversity.
