Scenarios of future potential for climate-change mitigation.
The forestry and timber industry contributes to the reduction of the greenhouse effect in different ways, for example through the sink function of the forest, the sequestration of carbon in wood products and through the use of wood as a substitute for fossil raw materials. This report explores the question as to how Switzerland’s contribution to the improvement of the CO2 balance can be optimized through forest management and the use of wood.
