Based on the data from WaMos 2 (final report)
The recreational value of the Swiss forest is calculated with the help of the expenditure method. The value of the recreational services provided to the entire population by all of Switzerland’s forests is estimated using the data from the second edition of the Switzerland-wide survey Socio-cultural Forest Monitoring (WaMos 2). The resulting total utility of approximately CHF 3 billion demonstrates the importance of the forest as a recreational space for Switzerland.
