The Geoinformation Act (GeoIG) requires the federal government and the cantons to harmonise their official geodata and develop geodata models for individual official geodata sets in accordance with federal legislation. Before the data models are completed, they are subject to a hearing of the Specialised Information Community (federal offices, cantons, specialised firms, experts, etc.).
