The QUANT module of the NAQUA National Groundwater Monitoring records the state and trend of groundwater quantity across the country.
QUANT monitors groundwater quantity in Switzerland's characteristic water resources in terms of groundwater levels and spring discharges. Water temperature, electrical conductivity and, to some extent, turbidity are continuously recorded as well.
Of the current 91 monitoring sites of the QUANT module, half are operated by the federal government and half by the cantons or water supply companies. Most monitoring sites are equipped for remote data transmission. The data of a few cantonal monitoring sites are still uploaded periodically and are therefore not available immediately.
30 monitoring sites of the QUANT module are also part of the TREND module and 17 are part of the SPEZ module.
