Information on flight emissions

The partially revised CO2 Act has been in force since 1 January 2025. This legislation stipulates that, from January 2026, flight service providers (e.g. airlines, travel agents and online travel providers) must state the expected emissions for each flight they offer (Article 7a CO2 Act).

The aim is to provide passengers with transparent information about the impact a flight is likely to have on the climate.

Article 14a of the CO2 Ordinance specifies the implementing provisions of the Act, including the scope of application and the basic principles for calculating emissions.
